The First Nations Technology Council and Camp Tech are pleased to announce a new partnership that will advance British Columbia’s Indigenous Technology Talent Development Strategy.
Through this partnership, space at every Camp Tech tech skills workshop in Vancouver will be saved for Indigenous participation at no cost. Camp Tech’s workshops are taught by leading industry professionals and provide expert insight into timely and relevant tech topics such as SEO (search engine optimization), Google Analytics, Photoshop, InDesign, Email Marketing with MailChimp, WordPress, Business Blogging, and more. Camp Tech creates a welcoming environment that empowers individuals to develop practical tech skills that they can put to use in the workforce. Camp Tech's beginner-friendly, in-person classes are offered at a variety of times of day and are short (most workshops are only 3 hours) to accommodate different schedules.
“The Technology Council is creating key partnerships like this in a push to ensure that all Indigenous people throughout BC have access to a variety of skills development opportunities in technology. These practical, hands on programs are great for anyone that wants to take their ability to the next level or who just want to explore a new skill in a friendly and supportive environment. We are now working toward expanding this opportunity to all regions of the province and we hope people enjoy the sessions as much as we do!” - Denise Williams, Executive Director, First Nations Technology Council
“Tech skills are essential for modern life, and we’re thrilled to help support First Nations as they develop their digital skills through this partnership. I hope this is the first of many programs between our organizations.” - Avery Swartz, Founder and CEO, Camp Tech
